Internet Marketing

  • What is pay-per-click advertising? I don’t understand how that works.
PPC example_new Pay-per-click advertising is when a company pays an internet search engine like Google to put an ad for their business at

the top of the search results for a particular term, or “keyword.” These ads will typically be displayed in a box at the top of the page, or off to the side of the page—you’ve probably seen them many times yourself. A business will only pay when someone clicks on their ad—hence the term, “pay-per-click”. If done correctly, this type of advertising can be very effective, because it targets people who are at the point in the buying cycle where they know exactly what they want and are ready to make a purchase.

  • Why doesn’t my web site come up in search results when people search for the products or services I provide?
The short answer is that it hasn’t been properly optimized to appear at the top of search results. The process of doing this is called “search engine optimization”, or SEO. The requirements are different for every business, for example, it can be very difficult or even impossible to make your website appear at the top of search results for a broad-based term, like “auto repair”. However, it is actually not very difficult to get to the top of search results for a very specific term, for example “auto repair in Richmond, VA”. This is the type of SEO that most local businesses need to do, and we offer several plans to help them with that.
  • All my customers are older folks who don’t use all this new technology like text messaging and smart phones. Why should I care about mobile marketing?
Ninety-one percent of Americans own a mobile phone, regardless of age. And as of 2012, 50.4% of these were smart phones. This number is growing every month. Every time a new technology has hit the market (mass production printing, radio, television, etc.), the businesses that embraced it were the ones who thrived. The ones who didn't... died. Mobile phones are here to stay. The only question is whether you are going to use that technology in your marketing, or allow your competitors to use it to take your customers.

  • I’ve been marketing my own business for years. Why would I bring in outside help now?
Sometimes it’s helpful to bring in a fresh set of eyes to look at a situation. Businesses in a given industry tend to look at other businesses in their industry for marketing ideas, and as a result they might miss some excellent ideas that have worked well in other industries. Because we work with a wide variety of businesses, we might just have an idea that you never would have thought of on your own.
